Grant Aid
Birchwood Town Council considers applications from local organisations and individuals for grant aid assistance at regular finance meetings. All applications for grant aid must be made on a Grant Aid Application form that is available from the office.
If you would like a form, telephone the office on 01925 819440 or e-mail us: clerk@birchwoodtowncouncil.org.uk and leave your contact details.
Because there is a limited ‘pot’ of money available for the grant aid that is available in any one financial year, the Town Council has to work to a strict set of guidelines and criteria when considering applications, which are as follows:
Terms and Conditions:
- Grants cannot be awarded to individuals or for individual benefit.
- Grants will only be awarded where there is clear, direct benefit to the people of Birchwood,
the Town Council, the Birchwood area or its residents.
- Grants will not be awarded, unless in exceptional circumstances, to those organisations that
can raise income through the rating system (e.g. fire brigade) or national charitable organisations.
- Grants will not be awarded to groups that come under an ‘umbrella’ organisation with sufficient funds which could be used to support the project.
- Grants cannot be awarded to private businesses.
- Grants are not available to organisations for the payment of salaries.
- Grants cannot be given for any trips overseas or educational trips.
- Grants will not be given for the maintenance or repair of buildings or accommodation.
- The recipient(s) of any grant will be expected to write an article for inclusion in the
Birchwood Community News and/or the Town Council's website.
- The organisation receiving the grant will be expected to provide evidence that the funding has been spent on that activity.
- If, for any reason, the organisation/group does not/cannot run the event or utilise the funding fo its intended purpose, it should be returned to the Town Council in full.
