If you want to get fitter and explore all the wonderful footpaths we have in Birchwood come and run or jog around the area with Spectrum Striders who train from Birchwood High School on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

See our website for details:

We welcome all abilities.

Birchwood Forest Park

Birchwood Forest Park is the name given to all the green areas throughout Birchwood. The town is made up of the three villages - Gorse Covert, Oakwood and Locking Stumps, and the villages and open spaces are all linked by a comprehensive network of footpaths, which in turn link the parkland to the surrounding countryside.

There is also a local Tennis Centre and Community Sports Arena which is situated between the Birchwood Shopping Mall and the Birchwood High School.

The Spectrum Arena is not utilized as it should be these days, but is used occasionally by film and television companies. The Parole Officer was filmed here recently.

Birchwood also has an excellent library, which is situated adjacent to the High School.
