A574 BIRCHWOOD WAY STRUCTURAL MAINTENANCE

Motorists and residents are advised that major roadworks to resurface a section of the A574 Birchwood Way, eastbound, between the roundabout at college Place/Woolston Grange Avenue and the roundabout at Birchwood Park Avenue/Oakwood Gate are programmed to commence on 19th March 2012, and will take approximately 6 weeks to complete.

Work will take place between 0930 and 1530 Monday to Friday,  during these times a contra flow and speed limit will be in operation.

PROPOSED PUFFIN CROSSING

The proposed installation of a Puffin Crossing in Gorse Covert on Moss Gate (across to Birchwood Forest Park) located approximately 147 metres north west of its junction with Ordnance Avenue/Killingworth Lane has been through Warrington Borough Council's necessary legal processes in regards to the introduction of a Traffic Regulation Order (TRO) for the proposed Puffin Crossing.  The legal advertising period for this scheme ended on 23rd December 2011 and the Borough Council did not receive any formal objections to the intention to introduce the pedestrian crossing facility.

It is anticipated that work to install the crossing will commence on Monday 16th January 2012 with the estimated duration of the work being approximately 5 working weeks.
