Councillor Surgeries

At the January 2017 Town Council meeting a discussion took place regarding the Councillor Surgeries.

Members agreed that the surgeries, which had been running for over a year at the Town Council offices, had not had achieved what they had been set up to do; i.e. to offer another method of communication with the Town Council and to encourage more people to come along to raise concerns or issues in person with a Councillor, without the same time constraints of the main meeting.

It was therefore decided to discontinue the Councillor Surgeries with immediate effect.

There will still be a ‘public participation’ session at the start of the meeting during which the Police will give their report and residents can raise any issues.

Residents can also continue to contact the Town Council in the usual ways - by telephone, email, or in person to the office.  In addition Councillors' contact details can be found at http://www.birchwoodtowncouncil.org.uk/council/councillors
